iCON Audio Interfaces 110307A3001 Editorial Review
The iCON Pro Audio Panel 2 recording interface offers musicians and audio enthusiasts a robust solution for recording on the go, combining portability and excellent sound quality at an attractive price point. Users have praised its ease of connectivity with mobile devices, utilizing the included USB cable which is well-insulated, enabling a reliable connection to phones and iPads. The interface supports various setups, allowing for both microphone and guitar input, and its 48V phantom power capability further enhances versatility by accommodating a range of professional mics. One of the standout features is the audio quality, with users reporting crystal-clear recordings with 24-bit/192 kHz definition. The dual headphone outputs provide convenience for monitoring, making it easier to collaborate or self-record without hassle. Control dials are said to be smooth and responsive, complemented by easily visible LED indicators. However, there are some notable downsides, particularly regarding initial setup. Users have encountered obstacles with driver installations for Windows 10 and 11 systems, as required drivers are not readily available. This has led to frustration, Considering the expectation that a product in this range would include a straightforward installation process. Additionally, the request for users to register and provide extra information to access the necessary drivers has drawn criticism. Overall, the iCON Pro Audio Panel 2 is highly regarded for its sound fidelity, solid build quality, and portability, making it a favorite for those needing a reliable recording interface. It shines particularly in mobile scenarios where quality and performance matter, despite the initial hurdles related to driver access. **
