The wire cutter is 6" long with a grip width of about 3 5/8" and a tip width of about 1 3/16". The tool does not have a locking mechanism and some users remove the auto-opening spring to prevent fatigue. The tool can strip wires in a range of 16 to 26 AWG, including 22 gauge solid wire. However, it is important to note that this tool is not designed to cut bolts or grip wire with its tip. Attempting to do so may damage the tool.
