Piatkus Books General Romance Books Editorial Review
The book "Cold-Hearted Rake" is a great read with complex, flawed yet compelling characters. Devon, the new inheritor of the estate, plans to sell it off as soon as possible but Kathleen, his cousin's widow, opposes his decision and confronts him over his disregard for the estate and its people. As time passes, sparks fly between the two, and they find themselves getting attracted to each other. The book has some pretty amusing moments, and character development can be seen in both Devon and his brother, West, who start taking responsibility and transform into better people. The book is more than just the love story between Devon and Kathleen, with a secondary relationship between Devon's friend and Kathleen's sister-in-law being set up as well. The audio narration by Mary Jane Wells is brilliant, and the story is fun and heartwarming.
