SUNWAYFOTO Camera Mounts & Clamps DPL-04R Editorial Review
The SUNWAYFOTO DPL-04R is a versatile Arca/RRS compatible L-bracket that has received a mixed reception from customers. Users working with various camera models like the Nikon and Olympus EM1X have noted the sturdy build quality and the overall design, which is intended to provide stability during shooting. However, compatibility issues are a notable concern. While some users found it adequate for their cameras, others reported significant discrepancies in fit, specifically noting the dovetails not engaging properly with certain tripods, such as the Peak Design model. For photographers using Olympus cameras, the DPL-04R fell short of expectations, with specific reports indicating that the bracket obstructs access to essential ports like the battery compartment and cable release. This has led to dissatisfaction among those who required easy access or seamless integration of their equipment. Despite these frustrations, some individuals managed to adapt to the limitations, highlighting that slight modifications, such as using adhesive buffers, could mitigate some issues of flex when shooting in portrait orientation. In summary, while the SUNWAYFOTO DPL-04R L-bracket showcases solid Construction and is praised by certain Nikon users, its limitations with Olympus models and tripod compatibility have left some customers disappointed. This product might serve well for photographers who can tolerate its quirks and adjustments but might fall short for those seeking a flawless fit and function. **
